What is the Short Hospital Visiting Program (SHVP)?
The Short Hospital Visiting Program (SHVP) is an exclusive program of TIBCS designed to provide opportunities for international young doctors from outside Taiwan who will be attending TIBCS 2026.
This program will take place as a pre-conference event for TIBCS 2026 and will run for 2 days, from September 17 (Thu.) to 18 (Fri.), 2026.
Overview
All expenses related to attending the Short Hospital Visiting Program (including accommodation, ground transportation, meals, etc.) will be the responsibility of the participant.
Qualifications
- ✓ Completed registration for TIBCS 2026
- ✓ Young doctors aged 45 or under who are not Taiwanese and are attending TIBCS 2026
- ✓ Applicants from the divisions of Surgery
- ✓ Each applicant can participate up to three times in the Short Hospital Visiting Program
- ✓ Ability to comprehend English-language tour programs
(The program will be conducted in English, and translation services will not be provided.)
Hospital Assignments
- • Hospital assignments will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.
- • The final assignments will be determined by the International Relations Committee of TIBCS.
- • The secretariat will send a confirmation letter in July 2026.

- • The TIBCS 2026 secretariat is responsible for recruiting and assigning participants to hospitals.
- • Each hospital will prepare a detailed program.
- • Additional documents may be requested by individual hospitals for administrative purposes.

The Division of Breast Surgery at TCVGH manages approximately 700 newly diagnosed breast cancer cases annually, making breast cancer the leading cancer among women at our institution. Our breast oncology team operates through a fully integrated, multidisciplinary framework comprising breast surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, oncology case managers, social workers, nutritionists, and nursing staff, ensuring comprehensive and individualized care from diagnosis through treatment. In July 2004, we established the first clinical skills training center in central Taiwan, subsequently reorganized into the Clinical Training Division under the Department of Medical Education. A dedicated teaching building was constructed in 2011, housing a state-of-the-art Clinical Skills Center and Immersive Simulation Center on the second floor — equipped with a VR classroom, ultrasound training room, simulated operating room, simulated ward, and central control room. The third floor serves as a nationally accredited OSCE examination venue with 16 stations, recognized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare from January 2024 through December 2027, while the fourth floor is devoted to minimally invasive surgical skills training.
