Short Hospital Visiting Program (SHVP)

What is the Short Hospital Visiting Program (SHVP)?

The Short Hospital Visiting Program (SHVP) is an exclusive program of TIBCS designed to provide opportunities for young doctors from outside Taiwan who will be attending TIBCS 2025.

This program will take place as a pre-conference event of TIBCS 2025 and will run for 2 days, from October 23 (Thu.) to 24 (Fri.), 2025.

October 23 (Thu.) – 24 (Fri.), 2025.
Program:
Hospital tours and practice observation.
Participants:
Limited to 15 individuals.
Grant:
NTD 6,000 Travel Grant

Important Notice: On June 13, 2025, the Taiwanese government announced that October 25 – Taiwan Retrocession and the Battle of Guningtou Victory Day— will become a national holiday. Since it falls on a Saturday in 2025, a compensatory day off will be given on Friday, October 24, creating a three-day weekend.

As a result, practice observations during the visit may be subject to change depending on each hospital's schedule and may not be available.

  • 3-5 doctors will be assigned per hospital.
  • Accommodation and transportation are self-arranged.

Qualifications:

  • Completed registration for TIBCS 2025(Eligible categories: Professor / Physician / Company)
  • Young doctors aged 45 or under who are not Taiwanese and are attending TIBCS 2025
  • Applicants from the divisions of Surgery
  • Each applicant can participate up to three times in the Short Hospital Visiting Program
  • Ability to comprehend English-language tour programs (The program will be conducted in English, and translation services will not be provided.)

Hospital Assignments:

  • Hospital assignments will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • The final assignments, will be determined by the International Relations Committee of TIBCS.
  • The secretariat will send a confirmation letter in September 2025.

Remarks:

  • The TIBCS 2025 secretariat is responsible for recruiting and assigning participants to hospitals.
  • Each hospital will prepare a detailed program.
  • Additional documents may be requested by individual hospitals for administrative reasons.
